Porting Procedures

 

  • Contact the new mobile service provider (shop or service centre) to whom you want to port your mobile number (recipient network).
  • A request form would be given to you to fill. This form contains basic information about you and your number.
  • Send the word “PORT” (not case sensitive) to 3232 from your current sim/phone number.
  • The service provider will do a back end work after this (e.g send a request to the stakeholders on your behalf).
  • You will receive the date and time of porting through SMS from the new operator. (your number might be inactive for a short while, prior to receiving the SMS).
  • Replace the old SIM with the new SIM provided by your new mobile service provider after the specified date and time of complete porting.
